Scarlett Johansson, American actress (born on November 22, 1985 New York City New York) is well-known for her abilities to perform across genres ranging from period dramas to thrillers to action films. Johansson has a father who is a filmmaker and architect. Her family was based in New York City. Hunter and her twin brother, and she were both the youngest out of four kids. When she was just seven years old, she started auditioning for television commercials. She became interested in acting rapidly and she soon after in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. In the Off Broadway play Sophistry she worked with Ethan Hawke. She then had her first appearance in a film with North (1994) and was written by Rob Reiner, at age nine. Johansson later appeared in Just Cause (1995), but her first break was with Manny & Lo a coming of age drama about sisters fleeing. She next earned critical acclaim for her role in the film as a teen who suffered a disfiguring accident in The Horse Whisperer (1998) as well as further recognition in the role of a sarcastic teen who is a solitary Rebecca on the set of Ghost World (2001). Smith was offered her debut acting job in the age of six with parents' help. She created a commercial with Dannon. As with many actresses who started out she decided to hone her craft in the world of theater. She was involved in various productions in the USA while she was making her debut on stage. She was educated at Stonestreet Studios, the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
